Project: Split airport
Location: Split, Croatia
Period: 2017-2020
Job Description: on-site supervision
Client: Split airport
Split Airport was opened for traffic on November 25, 1966. The port covers the needs of the coastal air traffic, from Makarska to Šibenik, and to Brač, Hvar, Šolta and other islands. The surface area of 200 x 112 m, with 6 positions for aircraft parking, due to larger traffic needs already in 1967, has been extended to 300 x 112 m, with additional 4 parking positions. The planned number of 150,000 passengers per year is exceeded already in 1968. Every year traffic reaches new records, so the expansion of the airport is necessary in order to avoid the crowds that are happening in the tourist season. In purpose to increase Split airport's capacity, Interkonzalting d.o.o. sign a contract for on-site supervision.
The works include: the expansion to three-storey passenger building and a total of 35,000 m2, which will increase the capacity of the terminal at 2,500 passengers in peak hour, as well as the construction of new automated luggage racks and the construction of a new commercial parking lot with a bus terminal.
