The Croatian Natural History Museum is one of the largest and most important museums in Croatia. It is located in a historic noble palace on the ramparts of Zagreb's Upper Town, which, between 1797 and 1834, also served as the venue for Zagreb’s first public theatre, the renowned Amadeo Theatre. The theatre was named after its founder and director, Hungarian Count Antun Amade de Varkony, who was also the then Chief Prefect of Zagreb County.
The Museum serves as a national center and central institution for the collection, preservation, protection, presentation, and scientific study of natural history materials. Its extensive collections- in zoology, botany, geology, and mineralogy, contain approximately 1.5 million items. The Museum is further distinguished by its over 160-year-long tradition of scientific research into Croatia’s natural heritage.
Interkonzalting is responsible for performing professional construction supervision and acting as the Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator (Coordinator II) for the reconstruction, extension, and furnishing of the new Croatian Natural History Museum, located at Demetrova 1, Zagreb (Palace Amadeo). These services are provided in accordance with the Contract for the execution of reconstruction and extension works on the museum, as well as the Contract for the execution of craft and electrical installation works related to the museum’s permanent exhibition (interior exhibition elements).
The project is co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund, as part of the Public Call for Project Proposals Direct Allocation of Grants under the Permanent Call of the ITU mechanism: "Guardian of Heritage as a Catalyst for Development, Research, and Learning- the New Croatian Natural History Museum."
